This engagement session took place at Harkness Memorial Park in Waterford, Ct. We took these pictures in the later part of summer. I was sure to schedule the shoot in the evening right when the sun was going down, so we could get that beautiful golden light.
The location had a beautiful low-hanging tree that covered a pet cemetery. Thanks, Stephen King for making it feel creepy. The sun had already gone down and it was getting a little dark. So I set up a flash behind the tree to fake the sun and bam, we got a set of great shots.
I love this dark and colorful look at the images. I've tried the faded look in my work before, I've even tried the bright and airy look, but I always gravitate back to the dark rich colorful vibe. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Harkness Memorial Park is certainly one of my favorite places to shoot now. Because of it's beauty and various features, there are plenty of ways to take great images.
